Course Description
This class goes above and beyond the basic uses of Lectora, focusing primarily on the use of variablesand conditional actions within a title. In this one-day instructor-led course, you’ll use variables to trackuser interactivity, display both generic and user information, and conditionally branch within a title.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Modify project structure and course components
- Use variables to track user activity and display dynamic information
- Create and modify conditional actions
- Build and update knowledge check pages
- Modify existing quizzes and result pages
- Use pop-ups, media library organizer, and library objects
- Work with triggers, actions, conditions, and keystroke actions
- Display and modify variable values
- Add status indicators and track user status as conditions
- Implement responsive course design concepts and inheritance
- Publish courses to SCORM or web-based formats

- Already understand Lectora fundamentals
- Can create a course structure, add content, create buttons
- Understand the book metaphor, inheritance, and modes
- Have basic Windows and web-browser proficiency
- Have access to Lectora (temporary access available upon request)
Course Prerequisites
Students must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Comfortable with creating a course structure, adding content to a title, creating buttons, and havean overall understanding of Lectora's book metaphor, inheritance, and modes (these concepts are covered in the Lectora Fundamentals training)
- Have a copy of Lectora (complimentary temporary access to Lectora provided upon request)
- Proficiency using a Web browser
- Basic Windows knowledge, including the ability to:
- Launch applications using the Start menu
- Use the taskbar to switch between Windows applications
- Use Windows Explorer to navigate the file structure, change the view of file listings, move and copy files, and create new folders (or directories)
- Copy and paste text

Module 1: Project Structure & Interface Enhancement
- Modify the overall project structure
- Organize and manage course elements effectively
- Use pop-up windows and media library organizer
- Group and ungroup objects for cleaner design
Module 2: Variables & Conditional Logic
- Use the Variable Manager to create and manage variables
- Display variable values dynamically
- Modify variable values through actions
- Build conditional actions based on user interaction
- Track status as a condition
Module 3: Interactive Content Development
- Build and update Help, Home, and Policy pages
- Create and modify Knowledge Check pages (Collaboration, Compromise, Negotiation)
- Add status indicators and configure status indicator actions
- Work with audio events and library objects
Module 4: Assessment Modification & Feedback
- Modify existing quizzes
- Update quiz question pages
- Revise the “Congratulations, you passed” page
- Use triggers, keystroke actions, and advanced interactions
Module 5: Responsive Course Design (RCD)
- Perform guided RCD exercises
- Apply responsive design inheritance
- Use page layouts effectively across devices
- Implement additional functionality for adaptive content
Module 6: Publishing & Deployment
- Publish courses to SCORM
- Publish web-based versions of your title
- Understand key publishing options and best practices
